Voltage Sags and Swells in Wind Mills of a Sub-Station

ABSTRACT

Wind mills are increasingly becoming an alternative generating source to fulfill the ever increasing need for electricity in India. Indians currently fifth largest country in the world in terms of wind generating capacity concerned. Critical issues affecting their performance such as power quality could impact their vital contribution to the power sector. It is essential to understand the issues involved clearly and adopt solutions to overcome them once for all.

This interesting case study in a substation is an indication of the way to proceed with such an important renewable resource, with suggestions for future.
