Evaluation of Effect of Non-Linear Loads on In plant Distribution System for Expansion of an Automobile Industry

ABSTRACT

The modern electronic controllers are added in the industries for having refined control for the process and enhancing the efficiency of the system. These are also added as retrofit in subsequent years to operationalization of plant. These are classified as non-linear loads. When they are plenty in number, it is essential to evaluate the impact of these on the power circuit and adequacy of the power distribution system originally designed and installed or commissioned. The plant PQ study can only reveal all this. Such exercise can also aid future expansion plan in an optimized manner. In a well-designed system, with large population of non-linear loads, there could be satisfactory
