For reliable operation of communication system, good power quality becomes very important. As per IEEE power quality is defined as the concept of powering equipment in a manner that is suitable to the operation of the equipment. Any deviation in frequency, transients, voltage sags and swells, flickers, voltage fluctuations, harmonics and phase unbalance. Any disturbance in any of these parameters can cause failure of telecommunication equipment or failure of communication system. This case study shows problems faced by the regional hub of a multinational communication capabilities deliverance company due to power quality issues and how they solved the problem.
