Conference on Reliable and Quality Power on 30-31 May, 2019 at CBIP, New Delhi Highlights

The Conference was organized by Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP), CIGRE India jointly with Central Electricity Authority, AARO in knowledge partnership with Asia Power Quality Initiative supported by International Copper Association, and sponsored by CTR Manufacturing Industries Ltd. and SEL on 30-31 May 2019 at CBIP Conference Hall, New Delhi. It was attended by about 100 delegates from 43 organizations including Power Utilities, PSUs, Research Labs, Manufacturers, Pvt. Sector organizations etc.

The conference started with the opening session on 30th May 2019. Shri V.K. Kanjlia, Secretary, CBIP delivered welcome address. Sh. Manas Kundu, Director ICAI / APQI Coordinator, Shri P.R. Kumar, CEO, BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. Shri A.S. Bakshi, Ex-Member CERC & Ex- Chairman CEA, Dr. Arbind Prasad, Chairperson, JSERC addressed during opening session. Shri Prakash S. Mhaske, Chairman, Central Electricity Authority delivered the Inaugural Address and Shri P.P. Wahi, Director, CBIP proposed vote of thanks.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS

A total of 24 technical presentations were made by National level experts from CEA, CERC, CERC, PSERC, POWERGRID, ERDA, Autometers Alliance, BSES Yamuna Power, IWPA, APQI, ICAI, Secure Meters Ltd., CTR Manufacturing Industries Ltd., Adani Electricity Mumbai, Ensource Consulting Pvt. Ltd., SEL, 3M E&C, MPTCL etc. on the subject during the conference on best practices being adopted and also latest techniques including case studies etc.

The presentations were very focused, technical but simple to understand. The presenters made every effort to make it easy for the participants to grasp the subject. There was good amount of interaction with the participants and exchange of thoughts.

  • Shri Jayant Sinha, CEO, Ensource Consulting Pvt. Ltd, APQI-NSN Partner, Bangalore
  • Shri Ashutosh V Pailwan, GM, Central Engineering Service, Adani Electricity Mumbai

The conference concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. P.P. Wahi, Director, CBIP who also summarised discussions held during the two days of the conference.
