Power Quality Issues & Solutions at a Tyre Manufacturing Facility

ABSTRACT

A leading tyre manufacturing company in India was facing PQ problems due to lower factor of the system due to non-linear loads present in the system.

A leading tyre manufacturing company in India was facing problems due to lower power factor of the system due to non-linear loads present in the system. Real time PF correction system (RTPFC) installed to maintain unity power factor on the LT system helped overcome the problem of high kVA demand, high harmonic and lower PF, with improved stability of the system.
