Power quality is gaining importance due to increased usage of power electronic technology. Many power converters are being used for control of machines and drives, energy conservation, power conversion for heating & welding applications and also for electronic appliances like computers, television and other medical electronic systems. These power converters cause aberrations in the power quality and also become victims of adverse effects of power quality problems.
