News of Power Plant :

Director General of Electricity Jarman said the company and PLN is completing the draft for General Plan of Power Supply (2017-2026).

PLN has allocated Rp 3 trillion to accelerate the development of transmission lines in West Java align with the completion of new power plants within the next few year.

PT PLN is preparing bid process for the construction of three units of Gas Fired Power Plant, including PLTGU 800 MW in Gresik East Java, Jawa-Bali 3 Peaker power plant with a capacity of 500 MW, and Jawa-Bali 4 Peaker Power Plant capacity of 500 MW. The power plant is part of 35 thousand Mega Watts (MW) electrification program.

Directorate of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) has noted, electricity from renewable energy has received additional capacity of up to 215 megawatts from four geothermal power plant (PLTP) projects. The four projects are the Sarulla Unit I (Medco Energi) in North Sumatra with a capacity of 110 megawatts (MW) by the end of February. Then, on June Karaha Bodas geothermal power plant in West Java (Pertamina Geothermal Energy) with a capacity of 30 MW and Ulubelu PLTP Unit 4 (Pertamina Geothermal Energy) with a capacity of 55 MW. Lastly, Sorik Marapi Modular (KS Orka Renewables Pte Ltd Singapore), North Sumatra 20 MW.

Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) will drill 14 geothermal wells this year to pursue additional capacity of 65 MW of the total capacity 532 MW to 617 MW. 85 MW of geothermal power plant capacity will be in operating this year comprised of Ulubelu unit 4 with capacity of 55 MW and Karaha unit 4 with capacity of 30 MW.
