Role of PQ Analyzers in improving Power Quality - an Expert's View

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it” – one of the most important quotes in management, credited to Peter Drucker, also sums up the biggest hurdle in improving Power Quality (PQ) in the electrical network. The difficulties in measuring Power Quality are attributed to several factors. Starting from why? what? how? when? and where? Do you measure Power Quality to the varied interpretations of measurements themselves, the list is long and challenging. PQ Analysers have emerged to be an easy and effective tool by aiding measurements of various parameters critical to the health and functioning of electrical networks (such as harmonics, voltage and current swells/sags and more). In this edition of expert interview, we speak to Sridharan P, Head – Product Management at FLUKE India to understand the role of PQ Analysers in reducing the challenges associated with improving Power Quality.
